Shou Sugi Ban

Tried a new technique this past week on a slab of red oak. Too much fun scorching the wood, and the finish is amazing. This is a custom commission for a mirror frame. Can't wait to finish this one, the texture of the oak is amazing. It's quarter-sawn oak too, so there are amazing flecks in the grain.
